The Port Credit Art Tour happens this weekend
In 2016, the Port Credit Art Tour will take place on Saturday, October 22nd from 11 AM – 5 PM, and Sunday, October 23rd from 11 AM – 4 PM. Art/craft lovers will again see displays of Mississauga’s finest crafts, including: weaving/dyeing, ceramics, felting, furniture, metalwork, flamework/glass beads, woodcarving and pottery, blown glass, rug hooking, handbags and many kinds of unique jewelry, along side local fine art.
Th studio tour was founded in 2010 by a group of South Mississauga area artisans to highlight professional craftspeople, living and working in the region. The 2016 tour, the seventh annual tour, will again showcase more than 20 artists. A new structure took place in 2015, with the tour taking place totally within Port Credit and involving local galleries and retailers as well as some artists’ studios. This made the tour quite walkable and more accessible.
Be sure to mark your calendars now and set aside the weekend. It definitely is a unique shopping experience and a great time to gather together a few friends and wander through venues, resting for lunch at one of the fabulous Port Credit restaurants. You will discover some amazing work, and learn all the wheres, whys and hows involved in the creation of such outstanding art. The Port Credit Art Tour provides an opportunity to treat yourself, add to your collection or purchase that special gift for a very special occasion.
