Cool gift ideas - Petit Nordique
It all started last winter when Andrée, the founder, wanted a special toque for her daughter to wear at her first Santa Clause parade. She hadn’t crocheted in a while, but decided to pick up the ol’ hooks and try her hand at a red toque topped with an oversized pom pom. Encouraged by the number of compliments she received that day, she decided to share her homemade knitted creations with all those interested in the form of Petit Nordique.
These are some seriously irresistible toques. There are four collections to choose from: The Solids (one colour), The Petits Coeurs (main colour with accent colour for hearts), The Aztec (main colour with accent colour for pattern) and The Fair Isle (three colours). Our family ordered three Solids, but next time we will for sure create one from the equally alluring Aztec line!
What I love – possibly most – about Petit Nordique is the ability to really customize your own toques. You not only have four different collections to choose from, but also 16 rich, deep colours and three pom poms (which she also makes herself) to mix and match into your own creation.
I chose navy blue with a caramel pom pom for myself, and wine with caramel for my baby boy – look how amazing they turned out!
The toques are all 80% acrylic and 20% wool and should be hand washed and laid flat to dry.
There are lots of sizes for you and your minis. Design your own warm, chunky toques this winter – or better yet, your friends’! This would make a great gift for any loved one this holiday season.
Children’s toques are $25, adults’ are $30. You can also indicate whether or not you’d like an oversized pom pom in the comments section before purchase.
But it doesn’t stop there. Petit Nordique also offers handmade booties and home décor. With the soles made of faux leather, in-lined with soft and cozy white Sherpa fabric, Andrée also crochets each of these herself. You have the same great choices in colour here! Get yours for only $25.
