Mississauga's Pingstreet app gets 7 new features
We previously wrote about Pingstreet, Mississauga's interactive app, that provides a source of information for residents and lets you inform the city of things including graffiti, road/sidewalk damage, an illegal sign, etc.
The information side provides garbage/recycling schedule info, news releases, parking permit info and others.
The app has been updated with 7 new features recently, which are:
1. Faded or missing pavement markings
2. Traffic sign repair
3. Traffic signal light timing
4. Garbage or debris on roads
5. Objects encroaching on City property (roads, rivers or streams)
6. Curb damage
7. Dead or damaged sod
With the addition of these new issues, this brings the total number of services that can be requested on Pingstreet to 20.
“The City is enhancing existing services through Pingstreet and making it easier for residents to connect with the City,” said Wendy McClymont, Manager, 311 Citizen Contact Centre. “Having residents report problems through the app, with photos and location is extremely helpful. The City recently launched an auto-dialing system to immediately notify by-law offenders of public nuisance signs using the data residents submit on the app.”
“Residents can also help wipe out graffiti by simply snapping a photo with a short description and location and report it on the app,” McClymont added.
In just over one year, approximately 700 issues have been successfully reported and resolved for residents on Pingstreet.
The Pingstreet mobile app is free and available for download at the following stores:
App Store, Google Play, BlackBerry World, and Windows Store.
