Mississauga is Building a Responsive and Accessible Community for Older Adults
Mississauga aims to provide access to responsive and accessible programs and services to cater to the specific needs of the aging population. The City is focused on making a difference in the lives of older adults living in Mississauga.
Through its Age-friendly Action Plan, the City is committed to providing residents with a high-quality life for all age groups including older adults. By incorporating age-friendly principles into City planning the goal is to make Mississauga a place where residents can belong and thrive. For the City’s older adult population, that means ensuring they are living active, independent and engaging lifestyles that promote good health and well-being.
One of the way the City is working to continue to integrate older adults into the community is by offering them opportunities to contribute their time and share their experiences while engaging in activities and programs that cater specifically to their age group.
Recreation and Leisure Activities:
From yoga to swimming exercises, recipes to special events, the City offers a variety of activities to keep older adults engaged and active. For details, visit the Active+ Spring 2017 Guide.
