Everything you need to know about the 2017 SoundBites Festival

On Saturday, September 2nd, celebrate the end of summer with 20,000 of your friends and family at SoundBites. It’s a night of homegrown flavours, including live music and great food at Mississauga Celebration Square, from 5pm – 11pm.

Best known for his mega-hit “Life is a Highway” Tom Cochrane will be bringing his signature style to Mississauga for an unforgettable concert. Rising stars Francesco Yates and Anjulie, will also perform. This concert is a part of the ONtour Concert Series, an Ontario 150 initiative.  ONtour is bringing the very best Ontario talent to celebrate the province’s sesquicentennial at concerts across the province.

It wouldn’t be a festival without food! Celebration Square is hosting Mississauga’s biggest food truck rally for the 4th year in a row. This year’s menu will serve up locally inspired dishes, and shine a spotlight on the ingredients that remind you of home. With over 20 food trucks, there is something to please every palate.

Here’s a sneak peak of the Food Trucks we’ve got on this year’s lineup:

Want to teach those food truck vendors a thing or two about fab food? Give us your recipes. Those meals you make that feel like you’re getting a big hug in a cozy sweater. Those dinners that smell and feel like home. We want those.

The Museums of Mississauga will be onsite during SoundBites to collect your recipes. A selection of the recipes will be included in a digital cookbook, A Taste of Mississauga, to be released later this fall. Recipes can also be sent to museums@mississauga.ca for possible inclusion.

Also, our good friends over at Mississauga Music are presenting hometown talent consisting of Jammer's Waffle House, Matt Zaddy and ill Scarlett in the amphitheater from 5-7.

Come out and help wrap up summer with this wonderful festival!
