For the second year-in-a-row, Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services (MFES) has partnered with Enbridge Gas Distribution (Enbridge) and the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council to improve home safety and fire prevention practices through a product donation valued at $52,911.
 
Project Zero is a public education campaign that aims to reduce the number of residential fire and carbon monoxide (CO) related deaths to zero. Through the campaign, residents in 15 Ontario municipalities will receive a total of 3,330 smoke/CO alarms. MFES will receive 882 Kiddie worry-free combination smoke and CO alarms to distribute throughout the community.
 
For the first time, MFES is also partnering with local Mississauga food banks to distribute the alarms to residents in need across the city.

Project Zero is a public education campaign executed through Enbridge and the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council. The two organizations team up annually to provide select fire departments in the Enbridge service area with combination carbon monoxide/smoke alarms to be delivered to high risk individuals in their communities.
