Rockin’ kindness for epilepsy

GivingTuesday, a global giving movement that has been driven by individuals, charities,
businesses and communities around the world. Just as Black Friday kicks off the
holiday shopping season, GivingTuesday is the opening day of the giving season.
GivingTuesday, the global day of generosity, continues to gain traction across the
country. This year GivingTuesday falls on November 27, 2018.

One of our Mississauga residents, Gaby Mammone from Kind Projects has partnered
with Oak Learners to kick off the #GivingTuesday movement. They have arranged an
inspirational rock painting event for the whole family in support of Epilepsy South
Central Ontario on November 18.

The event is free, and all guests will be provided with rocks, supplies and a free
epilepsy tattoo. If guests wish to keep their painted rock, they may make a suggested
donation of $5. Tax receipts will be available for donations of $20 or more. Here are
some ideas of what you can do with your rocks:

 Give it to someone to help make their day

 Leave it somewhere for someone to find and inspire others to initiate an act of

kindness

 Keep it in your home or on your desk as a reminder that you helped to support

those affected by Epilepsy

Details:

 Sunday, November 18, 1pm – 4pm (drop in anytime)

 Oak Learners, 394 Royal York Road, Etobicoke, ON M8Y 2R3 (street parking

available)

Funds raised will support the programs and services for those affected by epilepsy in
|the South-Central Ontario area. Epilepsy is a neurological condition characterized by
recurrent unprovoked seizures. About 1 in 100 people have epilepsy; it can affect
anyone regardless of age, gender or ethnicity. Educational material will be available in
addition to an onsite representative from Epilepsy South Central Ontario. There will also
be purple bracelets for sale.
