Modern Mississauga presents Ask The City - What are my voting options if I am out of the country on Municipal Election Day?
Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.”
We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.
Today’s question is about voting options in the upcoming Municipal Election..
I know there is a Municipal Election on Monday, October 22. I am out of the country that week and still want to vote. What are my options?
If you can’t vote on Election Day, you have a couple of options.
You can vote early during the Advance Polls on Friday, October 5 or Saturday, October 6 at the Mississauga Civic Centre, or on Saturday, October 13 or Sunday, October 14 at various locations throughout the city. Eligible voters can vote at any voting location during the Advance Polls. For the list of Advance Poll voting locations: https://mississaugavotes.ca/infoforvoters/wheretovote
If you can’t vote on Election Day or during the Advance Polls, you can have another eligible voter vote on your behalf. This is called Voting by Proxy. Simply fill out the Appointment of Voting Proxy form and have the appointed voter submit it in person to the City’s Clerk’s Office at the Mississauga Civic Centre.
If you’ve got a question about the City, we want to hear from you! Please send your questions to info@modernmississauga.com with “Ask the City” in the subject line.
