Scouts Canada Pop-A-Thon one-day fundraiser
Scouts Canada is inviting members of the community to attend the inaugural Scout Popcorn Pop-A-Thon on Saturday, September 22 a one-day fundraiser to kick-off the official Scouts Popcorn campaign that runs through to November. Scouts across Canada will be out in full force popping fresh popcorn in return for donations. All funds raised will help support local group adventures for the year and a percentage of donations will go directly back into Scouts Canada’s No One Left Behind program, which helps families with financial barriers experience the adventure and fun of Scouting.
Join in the fun at the following nearby locations:
Mississauga’s Celebration Square from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m.
The Argos Shipyard at Stanley Barracks in Toronto from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
For nearly 30 years, great adventures have started with Scouts Popcorn! As Scouts Canada’s signature fundraising initiative, the sale of this ‘pop’-ular treat, synonymous with campfire cookouts and movie nights, has helped youth discover a world of adventure they wouldn’t have elsewhere. From learning how to plan and lead a camping expedition, to rock climbing and rappelling, international travel and experiments in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Scouts Canada opens up a world of opportunity for boys, girls and young adults ages 5-26.
Scout Popcorn will continue to be sold through October and Scouts have the opportunity to earn scholarship money to support their post-secondary goals. Moreover, customers can choose to show their support of the Canadian Armed Forces by purchasing a gift of Scout Popcorn for the men and women in uniform at military bases in Canada and around the world.
