The history of Mississauga's Minerva’s Bower / Cuchulainn’s Irish Pub
Modern Mississauga and Heritage Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Way Back Wednesday’s."
We’ll share information about the history of Mississauga here and answer your questions.
Today’s topic is the history of Mississauga's Minerva’s Bower / Cuchulainn’s Irish Pub.
United Empire Loyalist John Barnhart built this house in 1832 as a wedding gift for his daughter, Minerva, and her husband William H. Paterson. Minerva operated a school for young ladies here.
Today the building is home to Cuchulainn’s Irish Pub, and is rumoured to be home to several spirits from the past. The modern veneer of brick hides the original character of the historic house.
