Today’s question is about Earth Day.

I’d like to do something to celebrate Earth Day this month (April 22) Where can I get involved in Mississauga?  

The City has a number of environmental events happening this month for you to get involved in. The below activities are your chance to take action for the environment and help make Mississauga more sustainable and climate change resilient.

April 15- April 27: 20-Minute Makeover - Join thousands of participants across Ontario who will volunteer for 20 minutes to pick up litter around their workplace, school or community. Organize a group of your co-workers, family and friends, find a space in need of a clean-up, and register your clean-up for a fun event!

April 15 – April 27: Clothing and Electronic Waste Collection – Between April 15 and 27, residents can drop off their used clothing or unwanted electronics, at no charge to Civic Centre, Central Library or any of the City’s community centres.

April 24: Indoor Gardening Class – Do you have a green thumb? Join Ecosource at the Malton Community Centre to celebrate Earth Days with a planting activity for the whole family. Click here to register.  

April 27: One Million Trees Earth Day Tree Planting - Bring your friends and family to a One Million Trees tree planting event for a morning of family fun! Locations include Brickyard Park, Willowvale Fields, Stonewood Park and Fleetwood Park.
