The City of Mississauga needs your help to identify areas of the city that are unique and valuable to you. In phase two of the Cultural Heritage Landscapes Project, the City will build on discussions that took place during phase one to review and update its 2005 Cultural Landscape Inventory.

Phase one examined large-scale neighbourhood and transportation route landscapes, while phase two will look at smaller scale cultural heritage landscapes. In order to have a more complete picture of the City’s culture and heritage, Mississauga protects landscapes that residents consider to be significant. Heritage landscapes contribute to complete communities by giving areas of the city a sense of its past, present and future.

Residents are invited to attend a workshop on September 19 to comment and share their ideas on different heritage landscapes in the following areas:

·       Farms and estates

·       Industrial landscapes

·       Parks and open spaces

·       Campuses and golf courses
