Drama, opulence, iconic music, and tragic love; experience the power of La Traviata, opening this Saturday, January 25 at the Living Arts Centre
La Traviata tells the story of the tragic love between the courtesan Violetta Valéry (Christina Pisani), and the romantic Alfredo Germont (Keith Klassen). Set in 18th century Parisian high society, Alfredo and Violetta’s love threatens to shame his family. When Alfredo’s father directly appeals to Violetta to relinquish her one chance of happiness, Violetta submits, and her act of self-sacrifice leads to her paying the ultimate price. Featuring one of the most iconic, romantic and tragic scores of all time, Verdi’s masterpiece contrasts spectacular party scenes with tender, intimate moments.
La Traviata will take place on January 25 and January 28 within the splendour of Hammerson Hall, a world class theatre that is at the heart of the Living Arts Centre. Complimentary underground parking is included with every ticket purchase. Show time is 8pm.
