The 2020 Montréal en Lumière Festival
Since its inaugural edition in 2000, every year MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE (MEL) offers residents and visitors to the city hundreds of delicious activities to enjoy. All told, over 600 special guests from the culinary world, from more than 20 countries, have come to celebrate the best of what Quebec gastronomy has to offer: its chefs, producers, artisans, and culinary culture.
Even though MEL turned 20 last year, it has proven itself capable of adapting to the major trends of a world that is constantly evolving – as evidenced by the new additions to last year’s festival, which are back on the menu for its 21st outing.
First course: the Nuit Gourmande, presented by Casino de Montréal in collaboration with Air France, which takes place on February 22. Fresh from its successful first edition last year, this unique event allows festivalgoers to discover Montreal’s rich food culture throughout the night.
Second course: Tastet Culinary Tours, which offer new food-themed walks, created exclusively for the festival
Third course: the Quartier Gourmand, a place dedicated to gastronomy, where the produce and producers of Quebec converge with major food trends and the flavours of international cuisine.
Main course: Air France Finest Tables is back, even bigger than before, as 50 of our finest restaurants take part in the 21st edition of the festival.
Finally, for dessert, you’re presented with a new magazine put together by the people at Caribou, who they are proud to be working with. One of MEL’s strengths is knowing how to surround themselves with incredible partners. As the saying goes: together we are stronger.

The Most Awaited Night of the Year
As the best-attended single-day event in Montréal every year, Nuit blanche assembles 300,000 nighthawks who brave winter temperatures to fully experience a singularly wild urban adventure.
Happening on Saturday, February 29th, the Metro will be open all night especially for the occasion!—and dive into some of our 200 cultural activities, most of them free, spread over more than 150 places throughout the city.
This Nuit, as usual, promises to be dazzling!
