The Mississauga Arts Council Invites Creatives To Apply for the 2020 Micro Grants Program

The Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) announces the return of the MAC Micro Grants program funding for local creatives.

The Micro Grants program is available to individual artists and unregistered groups/collectives living in Mississauga.

"MAC's terrific Bingo volunteers working at Rama Gaming Centre earned nearly $20,000 for MAC's micro grants this year,” says MAC’s ED Mike Douglas, “today, we are announcing a new range of exciting projects to enable more talented creatives to connect with Mississauga residents and advance their careers."

Categories for funding include; a theatre in the park experience for writers/producers, an opportunity for video producers to create a documentary on the extraordinary creative women of South Asian descent that make such a difference to the arts in Mississauga, a spoken word/poetry tour of underserved or deserving communities, and free classes and editing software in video production for musicians to make their own music videos.

This is the first of several grant announcements as MAC brings in fresh programs this summer, aimed at enabling the digital transition of the arts online. Stay tuned for news about Visual Arts and Dance projects, along with digital education programs informing live streaming, video production, digital marketing and social media distribution. This will be one of the busiest years for new initiatives in the 39-year history of the Mississauga Arts Council.

The deadline to apply for the Micro Grants program is Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at 11:59 PM. Guidelines, criteria, and submission form can be found online at www.mississaugaartscouncil.com/microgrants
