Learn about the new Mississauga Festival of Trees

A unique new winter event is coming to Mississauga! The Mississauga Festival of Trees will run from December 9th-19th, 2021. The festival celebrates the joy of the winter season, showcasing displays of seasonal lights, contemporary tree and woodpile art installations, artisan and culinary markets, entertainment and public workshops, at the beautiful, historic venue of the Small Arms Inspection Building.

Open to artists’ interpretations, the tree and woodpile installations at the festival will celebrate the winter season and cultural diversity of Mississauga. Artists, postsecondary students, and community groups have come together to present these installations throughout the duration of the festival.

From December 9th to 12th, the artisan market will showcase a collection of talented artisans from across Ontario. This indoor market will be the perfect go-to spot for unique and handcrafted gifts. The culinary market will run from December 17th and 18th, featuring an array of fresh and take-home specialty food and drink items from local and Ontario producers.

Community workshops, entertainment, and performances will run throughout the Festival dates. The Ally Loves Pajamas: Family PJ Party, held December 19th, will feature the book launch of local Mississauga author Christina Somers, offering an afternoon of fun and entertainment for families with children (primarily for 4-7 year olds). Tickets for the Ally Loves Pajamas: Family PJ Party event are on sale now, additional workshop line-ups and tickets will be available soon.

“We recognize that it has been particularly challenging for people over the last 18 months during COVID 19. The festival’s aim is to bring joy to visitors, re-engage our community, support the arts and culture sector and our local economy," said Diane LaPointe, Executive Director at CreativeHub 1352. "We thank all levels of government, local businesses, and the community for supporting the Mississauga Festival of Trees. We look forward to bringing this unique event to the city.
