Learn about 100 Women Who Care Mississauga's Giving Circle
100 Women Who Care Mississauga is a local community group of philanthropically-minded women who gather three times a year to raise money for local charities in need. Members are allowed to nominate local, Mississauga-based charities which have a pressing, immediate need that could be solved with a large, collective donation.
At their upcoming November event, 3 local charities, Start2Finish, Vita Centre and Lady Ballers Camp, will be presenting to the membership about their immediate need and how $10,000 would impact the community.
Their main goal is to do good within our local communities for our local residents. They bring together 100 women in Mississauga who care about local community causes and are committed to community service, for one hour, thrice yearly. Members nominate local charities which have an immediate need, they are vetted according to chapter’s guidelines, and three are chosen at random one week before each Giving Circle. At their meetings, the three charities present their cause, and a vote is cast to determine who will receive the entire collective donation.
Each organization presents to attendees for up to five minutes and how they’d use the funds.
Attendees can ask questions to each presenting organization and then vote anonymously for one local charity.
Giving Circles also include a networking component, allowing members and guests the chance to connect with each other. They also host it online for those who prefer to join remotely.
