Voter Registration is Open for Mississauga’s 2022 Election

Mississauga voters can use the City’s online Voter Registration Portal to check their information or register to vote before the election.

The City of Mississauga’s new Voter Registration Portal allows residents to save time at the polls by updating their information on the Voter’s List or, if they are not on the Voter’s list, add their information to it.

“Taking a few minutes to verify this information now will help speed up the process at the polls. If voters confirm and update their information online ahead of time, they will not have to fill out additional paperwork at the polling location,” said Diana Rusnov, Director of Legislative Services.

The Voter Registration Portal is easy to use. It allows residents to check their information by inputting their name and address to compare it with existing information on the Voters’ List. From there, residents can either verify or update existing information, or add themselves provisionally if they were not on the list already. Voters will be required to provide identification and proof of address at the polling location to verify the change or addition.

If eligible voters do not make the updates or additions to the list prior to voting, they can still do so at the polling location by completing the applicable form.

To be eligible to vote in the 2022 Mississauga Municipal Election, you must be:

·       A Canadian citizen,

·       At least 18 years old, and

·       A resident of the City of Mississauga or

·       A non-resident, but you or your spouse own or rent property in Mississauga

Election Day is October 24, but advance voting will take place October 7 to 9 and October 13 to 16. Residents can find out who is running and find out where and when they can vote at MississaugaVotes.ca. Voter Notification Cards will be mailed out later this month.
