A Fabulous French Fry Air Fryer recipe

In this recipe, we’re going vegan a fabulous and fantastic french fry air fryer recipe.
Fun fact: I worked at New York Fries in Square One from 1997 to 2004 so I may know and thing or three about fries…
The difference maker here is the three cold water rinses and hot water bath to extract the starch, giving you fries that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
Prep time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Total time: 50 minutes
Ingredients
Two Russet potatoes (longer potatoes = longer fries)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon olive oil
Optional; 1 teaspoon each of paprika, garlic powder, onion powder
Directions
Thoroughly wash and clean the potatoes
Peel if you’re not a fan of the skins
Cut the potatoes into desired thickness as long as they’re similar in size
Place in a large bowl and fill with cold water for 5 minutes
Rinse and repeat the cold water bath twice more
Place the fries in the same bowl and fill with hot tap water; let sit for 10 minutes
Dry the fries with a kitchen towel; the drier the better
Add your seasonings and coat evenly in a similar sized bowl
Add a teaspoon of olive oil to your air fryer
Cook for 10 minutes at 375 F
Shake/mix the fries in the basket and put back in for 12 minutes at 375 F
Plate your fries, add your dipping sauce of choice and you’re set!
