Modern Entrepreneur - Abdullah Al-Fadhli of Avenjineers
In conversation with Mississauga’s Abdullah Al-Fadhli, owner and founder of Avenjineers.
1. What does your company provide/do?
Avenjineers is a company that was started in 2020 by Abdullah to combine the unbound realm of imagination with tangible physical reality. It is a company that utilizes additive manufacturing technologies like 3D printing to create and develop products from videogames, movies, and TV shows. These products range from the famous lightsaber of Star Wars to Thor’s hammer from the Avengers. This company is quite literally limitless, it aims at creating unimaginable products that would be admired by collectors worldwide. With its founder being a recent graduate of mechanical engineering, it is his mission to utilize his skills and education to make a positive change in this world.
2. What inspired you to start your company?
Once upon a time, a kid dreamed of turning his ideas into physical products that would be bought, sold, and displayed around the world. A kid obsessed with the Avengers superhero franchise utilized the power of education to become an engineer and create a company that would eventually house super-engineers to change the world with their problem-solving and innovative skills. Avenjineers is the elemental link between imagination and reality.
3. What's been the most impactful lesson you've learned being an entrepreneur?
Money is a byproduct of true success, and success is doing something you love even if it was for free. Find your passion, follow it blindly, and success will come with patience. The life of an entrepreneur will test you in ways you have never imagined, it is by no means a flattering lifestyle, but the amount of reward is unimaginable.
4. How do you unwind?
To relax and recharge, I immerse myself in self-improvement podcasts led by health experts and experiment with new business concepts. This blend of personal growth and creative exploration keeps me inspired and balanced. A healthy mind stems from a healthy body and I strongly believe that can be optimized by the way you use your free time.
5. What succinct advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?
Harvery MccKay once said, "find something you love, and you'll never work a day in your life.” The thing I love is my craft and I spend the majority of my time either working or thinking about it. Some call it being a workaholic, some call it passion, I call it a dream come true.
6. What are your goals for 2024?
The vision for Avenjineers in 2024 is to ascend to new heights by integrating subtractive manufacturing, particularly laser cutting technology, to expand our product line. The goal is to launch 10 innovative prototypes and promote them through social media, with a target of reaching 5,000 followers on TikTok by May 2024. Additionally, we plan to transition Avenjineers from a purely online presence to participating in various expos and vendor events across Canada.
