Modern Artist - Bhanu Rana of the "Mississauga; Keeping It Real" Podcast
In conversation with Bhanu Rana, creator of the "Mississauga; Keeping It Real" Podcast.
What inspired you to create the Mississauga; Keeping It Real podcast?
Always wanted to have my own podcast! It was through the Landmark Program that I was able to make it into reality. Wanted to focus on the things that I enjoy such as Food and Holistic Health. There is so much here in Mississauga to explore. I now even have guests that are coming outside of Mississauga- I call them my Wild Card Guest! 😁
Why did you choose "Mississauga: Keeping It Real" as the name?
I chose this name because I find that with many of the everyday discussions of life and the interactions that we have with people, we somewhere have lost the art of not being real. To me, keeping it real, is a place where I invite guests to share their thoughts, perspectives and/or anything that is important to them and to have real conversations, even difficult conversations.
How do you prepare for each episode?
I really do not. I have no script to follow. I keep it real. The only thing I have done is looked at the guests' website or other social media platform to understand what they do. That's it!
While no two guests are identical, is there a common theme you've noticed in the episodes?
Good Question! All my guests are real humans with real life challenges. Many of them have overcome great struggles to be where they are today!
What's been the most imposing obstacle to this podcast and how have/are you overcoming it?
Booking guests! Figuring out what time and day works best for them to come on the Podcast. I really do not know if there is a way to overcome it. It is more of me reminding myself to be flexible and understanding that everyone is busy and I have to honour that! I am a one man show, I do everything myself. Maybe, one day I will have a team to take care of the logistics etc.
What advice do you have for others looking to start their creative journey?
Just Do It! The first step is overwhelming, that is where the difficulties are.
Play in the court of life; not in the court of the mind. Take Action. Surround yourself with quality people. Have discipline and be consistent.
