Mississauga's moJJa Socks Launches Purple Ribbon Socks for Sunny Days Camp - A Camp for Children with Epilepsy
moJJa Socks is teaming up with Epilepsy South Central Ontario, where $5.00 will be donated to Sunny Days Camp from the sale of the Purple Ribbon Socks.
Epilepsy South Central Ontario is a non-profit charitable organization that provides education, information and support to families and individuals. They are dedicated to improving the quality of life for persons living with epilepsy. Epilepsy South Central Ontario’s Sunny Days Camp is a weekly day camp for children living with epilepsy and their siblings aged 5-14 years.
When other camps say no to children with epilepsy or seizure disorders, Epilepsy South Central Ontario says absolutely! The children’s day camp now runs in two locations – Mississauga and Kitchener. Both locations provide traditional day camp experiences for children living with epilepsy as well as their siblings.
About Sunny Days Camp
The camp offer weekly trips and outings as well as special guests and activities. Sunny Days Camp provides a safe and fun way to engage and promote friendships, build self-esteem, and learn basic life skills while at the same time encouraging teamwork and developing leadership skills.
After a Sunny Days Camp experience, teachers have observed that these children start the new school year with enthusiasm and increased self-esteem – it’s an opportunity to continue their learning outside of the traditional classroom environment. This not only gives the children an experience of a lifetime but also teaches them to normalize seizures and respond appropriately.
