2024 Mississauga Music Walk of Fame Inductees
Internationally acclaimed classical violinist Adrian Anantawan, and Multi-Platinum selling guitarist and songwriter for Platinum Blonde, Sergio Galli to be Inducted into the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame as part of this year’s Tim Horton’s Southside Shuffle Blues and Jazz Festival.
Adrian Anantawan is an Internationally acclaimed classical violinist who has performed at the White House, Carnegie Hall, and the Athens Olympics, with degrees from Yale, Harvard, and The Curtis Institute of Music. Adrian is a Juno Award nominee, a member of the Terry Fox Hall of Fame, and was awarded a Diamond Jubilee Medal from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. He is currently an Associate Professor of Music at Berkley College in Boston and throughout the year, continues to perform, speak, and teach around the world as an advocate for disability and the arts.
Sergio Galli is a guitarist, songwriter and founding member of Canadian rock band Platinum Blonde who took the 80s by storm with chart topping hits and a fresh new wave sound. Their multi-platinum selling album Alien Shores was recorded in Mississauga at Metalworks Recording Studio. In 2010, Sergio was inducted into the Music and Broadcast Industry Hall of Fame and in 2023 into Canada’s Walk of Fame. Platinum Blonde is currently on tour across Canada with Billy Idol, playing August 6 at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena.
