To kick off the season of giving, Dixie Outlet Mall is launching the Forest of Stars - a charitable partnership providing families in need with beautifully decorated trees just in time for the holidays. From November 25 to December 17, the Forest of Stars will feature seven pre-lit, undecorated Christmas trees where shoppers are encouraged to purchase ornaments and decorate their tree of choice.

During Forest of Stars hours, guests are invited to purchase an ornament for $2.00, $3.00 or $4.00 which they can customize at a decorating table by adding a ribbon of their choice, a special message or a design to their ornament. Once decorated, ornaments are stored in display cases until the Tree Decorating Event. One hundred percent of proceeds from ornament sales will be donated to SickKids. The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is one of the top three children’s hospitals in the world focused on research, education and care. SickKids treats 100,000 patients annually.

“We rely on the generous support from the community and are grateful to Dixie Outlet Mall for their commitment to our cause,” says Lisa Walker, Manager, Cause Marketing, SickKids Foundation. “The funds raised from this initiative will help SickKids continue to fund the fight against the greatest challenges in child health.”

On Thursday December 14 from 6:00pm-8:00pm, guests are invited to return to Dixie Outlet Mall for the Tree Decorating Event - an evening of tree trimming and holiday treats hosted by SickKids patient ambassador Jayden. All seven trees will be spaced out throughout the common area where guests, mall employees, and Dixie management will decorate trees with their purchased ornaments.

On December 17, all seven trees decorated in the Forest of Stars will be wrapped and delivered to a family in the GTA. As well Dixie Outlet Mall, guests visiting the Forest of Stars are encouraged to donate non-perishable items including food, warm clothing and stocking stuffers to the Mississauga Food Bank.
