Today’s question is about the repairing sod damage caused by snow plows
Will the City repair sod damage caused by a snow plow?
If a snow plow has caused damage to sod on your property or sidewalk, City crews will make the repairs after inspecting the damage.
To report sod damage call the City’s Citizen Contact Centre at 3-1-1. Your information will be recorded and City staff will inspect the damage in the spring. The damaged area may receive top soil and grass seed or sod depending on the problem. Sod becomes available in May and replaced during the months of May and June or September and October. These repairs can be delayed due to changing weather conditions or the availability of sod.
The City does not repair any sod damage caused by general winter weather or lack of maintenance by a property-owner. Homeowners are responsible for removing any water sprinklers or lawn fixtures prior to the start of winter.
For more information or to report sod damage caused by a snow plow, call 3-1-1 or 905-615-4311 from outside Mississauga.
