Fresh off a show run at the Toronto Fringe Festival, sisters Colleen Snell and Noelle Hamlyn of the Mississauga-based dance-theatre company Frog in Hand are gearing up for their latest immersive, site-specific dance performance Stories in the Woods. The two sisters are lifelong storytellers, having produced over 45 original shows since their first professional production in 2012. Each one has been an innovative work with a greater mission than to simply entertain; with every piece they seek to break down boundaries that separate art forms and audiences, and engage the community to consider the environment and drive positive social change.

Stories in the Woods is a nature-themed production built around the site where it will be performed - the forest surrounding a heritage site in Mississauga. The show seeks to bring awareness to the current climate crisis through an eerie, poetic performance that will allow guests to enter into the story and come face to face with characters as they are led to explore the scenes unfolding amongst the trees. Colleen and Noelle's unique mission and point of view has garnered attention from many Canadian arts organizations, and as a result Stories in the Woods is made possible by generous grants from by The Canada Arts Council, The Ontario Arts Council, RAMA Mississauga, The City of Mississauga, The Mississauga Arts Council and The Hazel McCallion Foundation.

Stories in the Woods will run for two nights only on October 4th & 5th, with two shows each night at the Small Arms Inspection Building (1352 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga).
