The The 2020 Mississauga Music Awards Goes Online

The 4th annual Mississauga Music Awards are almost here – airing virtually this year on Saturday November 7th at 7pm EST on www.mississaugamusic.com. Supported by the City of Mississauga’s Culture Division, Living Arts Centre & Canadian Community Arts Initiative, this year boasts 13 award categories & 56 nominees.
 
Each category was voted on by an industry panel, based on the judging criteria of artistic merit, creativity & impact of work. A very different process from previous years due to the pandemic, the awards were secretly handed out over Zoom during September & October with the winners collecting their trophies at LAC shortly thereafter. Prize sponsors for 2020 included Canadian Music Week, Canadian Music Expo, CCAI, Long and McQuade, Metalworks Studios, Mississauga Arts Council & Modern Mississauga Media contributing a variety of prizing in addition to the award recognition.
 
All of this has been captured & pieced together with a few surprises that include a special feature performance from RBC Theatre at Living Arts Centre, culminating into a 50-min event experience that’s a first for the community.
