Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.” We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.
Today’s question is about when City parks will reopen.

When will City parks reopen?

Mississauga parks have remained open throughout the COVID-19 pandemic for walk-through access on paths, trails and other portions of parks that have not otherwise been closed. However, the amenities, playgrounds and courts within parks have been closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The City is currently reviewing the Province’s announcement that allows the reopening of some outdoor recreational amenities and will take a phased approach to the re-opening parks and facilities based on advice from Peel Public Health. Safety is the priority as the City plans and prepares to reopen.

That being said, residents are asked to refrain from congregating or playing on these amenities until further notice.

At this time, all City closures remain in place except for golf courses and public marinas– including associated parking lots for these amenities.

Any reopening plans or changes to current closures will be communicated through the City’s website and social media channels.
