A letter to the Travel Media Association of Canada

Dearest TMAC,

It's Jay, owner of Modern Mississauga Media.
The one who loves extra hot chicken wings, chocolate milk and who took a full size suitcase, carry on bag and backpack on his first press trip to Florida for six days.
(I'm much better at packing now!)

I know things have been different and difficult for you this year...they've been like that for everyone. From the cancelled Sudbury AGM, to air travel being grounded and the world changing daily, we're living through a historical period in our world.
There have been positives, however. Innovation in the travel industry from Zoom calls and conferences, local tourism on the cusp of becoming 2020's travel theme, expansions of existing brands and creations of new ones.

I'm writing to let you know that even though we've been together for a short two years, I'm constantly grateful for all we've been though.
You've introduced me to many of the brightest minds in the Canadian travel industry.
You've enabled memorable experiences, meaningful conversations, fostering connections and helped grow my business.
I've learned quite a bit from the many I've interacted with and want us to have a long-term relationship that's built on consistently evolving, learning and helping others in our industry.

So what now?

I'd like to get serious and get to know each other better.

As an entrepreneur in the ever-changing media world, I want to learn from others by having a seat at the table. It doesn't matter where I sit; I want to be present and an active listener.
In return, I can share my experiences and knowledge as a writer, editor and adventurer with your family on how collectively, we can ensure a safe, smart and sustainable return for the Canadian travel community.

My passport is valid, my one carry on bag is packed, and my camera batteries are charged.
Can I pick you up on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. EDT?

TMAC, we've been good together - let's go places together.

Jay
