Mississauga Music Walk of Fame Announces 2020 Inductee Patti Jannetta

Mississauga Music Walk of Fame is pleased to announce that it has chosen singer, recording artist and event organizer Patti Jannetta to be its 2020 Inductee. The Induction Ceremony will take place on Sept 13 at 8pm and will be part of the Tim Horton’s Southside Shuffle Blues and Jazz Festival Virtual Event, streaming worldwide on YouTube and Facebook.

Patti Jannetta’s career began as a teen singer/actress in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Performing in Canada, the US, Europe, and Asia; she released three albums, 7 singles, 2 music videos and starred in her own CTV television special A Family Christmas. Juno Award nominee for “Party Girl”, singer/songwriter Jannetta toured with legendary Bo Diddley and their co-write, “Make up Your Mind” was featured in the hit movie Meatballs 3. Patti enjoyed Top 10 and Top 20 hits receiving a Diamond Record for her collaboration on the MuchMusic Dance hit “Tell Me You Love Me”. She composed the musical, “Memories of Louis Jannetta & The Imperial Room”, that toured to sold out enthusiastic audiences and is soon to be developed as a screen play. Passionate about supporting emerging artists Patti is President of CAAMA, a founding director of Mississauga Italfest, SING! Toronto Vocal Arts Festival and the Mississauga Waterfront Festival. Awards include: Queens Golden Jubilee Medal, Laurie Pallett Patron of the Arts, Canadian Recording Legacy and Brilliant Minded Women. Co-owner of Music Makes Miracles, she helps non-profits and charities fundraise through the gift of music. 

As a special feature of this year’s Mississauga Music Walk of Fame, the Organizing Committee will provide an exclusive preview of the future of The Walk, with a virtual demonstration of what is coming in 2021. The “Enhanced Walk of Fame” to be designed and engineered in partnership with a leading local college will allow visitors to access music, video, and other data pertaining to an individual member of the Walk on their iPad, iPhone, or Android device.

Established in 2012 by the late Mississauga City Councilor Jim Tovey a former musician, the MMWF features Mississauga musicians and Industry leaders who have made a significant contribution to the world of music.
