Mississauga's Riverwood Conservancy and Capra's Kitchen come together this Valentine's Day/Hazel McCallion Day

Valentine’s Day, which also happens to be former Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion’s birthday, is going to look a little different this year. Dinner out is a no-go, but thanks to Chef Massimo Capra and our friends at Capra’s Kitchen, you can have an exquisite Valentine’s Day/Hazel McCallion Day meal right at home – and help preserve nature in the city!

When you pre-order a meal from Capra’s Kitchen’s special St. Valentine menu and pick it up from the restaurant on Sunday, February 14, a portion of proceeds will be donated to The Riverwood Conservancy (TRC).

Hazel McCallion, a TRC patron, often refers to Riverwood as “the gem of the city.” Through her long and distinguished political career, she never forgot the importance of connecting the residents of Mississauga to the beauty of nature.

You can help keep those connections alive while celebrating Valentine’s Day and Hazel McCallion’s 100th birthday! And you’ll support a local small business in the process. What’s not to love?

A three-course dinner costs $80.00 per person (plus tax), and a three-course vegetarian/vegan dinner costs $70.00 per person (plus tax).

Here’s what’s in the $80 dinner:
ANTIPASTO Burrata & Tartufo Nero: Imported Italian Burrata, Squash Puree, Preserved Black Truffle, Arugula. MAIN COURSE CHOICES Ontario Beef Tenderloin: Crushed Roasted New Potatoes, Roasted Carrots & Broccoli, Roasted Onion & Red Wine Reduction OR Stuffed Pickerel Filet: Seafood Stuffing, Crushed Roasted New Potatoes, Roasted Carrots & Broccoli, Dill Cream.
One of the following desserts: Strawberry Tiramisu: Mascarpone Custard, Fresh Strawberries, Lady Finger Cookies

Here’s what’s in the $70 vegetarian/vegan dinner:
APPETIZER Balsamic Glazed Eggplant, Squash & Black Truffle: Squash Puree, Preserved Black Truffle, Pine Nut, Arugula. MAIN COURSE Green pea & Edamame Bean Stuffed Cannelloni: Tomato Sauce, Mint, Green Onion, Blister Tomato. DESSERT options: Chocolate Strawberry Tart: Vegan Crust, Chocolate Mousse, Strawberry Coulis.

Orders must be placed by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

Orders can be picked up at Capra’s Kitchen, 1834 Lakeshore Road West, Mississauga, on Sunday, February 14 between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
