Camping in Style: Must-Have Glamping Equipment

Some people thrive in a stripped-down, all-natural approach to camping. They take joy in the struggle of building a tent, collecting firewood, and sleeping on the ground.

However, a new type of camper knows you can have the best of both worlds. You can feel close to nature without sacrificing the comforts of modern life.

Luxury camping, better known as glamping, doesn't mean you have a decked out RV. You can still keep the tent — it is just about bringing the right equipment.

Curious on how to make your camping glam and take part in one of the hottest travel trends? Keep reading for must-have glamping equipment.

1. Efficient Generator

Okay, this first item may not strike you as “glamorous,” but just trust us. Most of the equipment we recommend will require some electrical support. This is where generators become essential. Without them, you can wave good-bye to a relaxing stay in nature.

You should look into powerful, portable generators. They will not take up a lot of space, but will provide plenty of power to keep you glamping comfortably.

2. Folding Cot

While settling down in a plush sleeping bag is an option, you can also bring along a high-quality folding cot to elevate your sleeping style. A folding cot will get your air mattress off the ground, just like at home, and make it easier to get up and out of bed in the morning.

It also gives you more storage space because you can stash gear underneath. Some folding cots even bring the extra luxury of built-in side tables and come in large sizes.

3. Portable Shower System

If you are not at a designated camp site, you may be scratching your head about how to stay clean. This is where a portable shower system comes into play. After all, enjoying nature does not mean you have to smell like it!

These shower systems often feature a tankless portable water heater with a suction pump to pull in water form different sources. It will heat up the water to at least 35° F more than the water source. So, if you siphon 40° to 50°F tap water, you can have a piping hot shower of around 80° to 90°F.

The portable systems also come with a shower head and flexible hose to get clean. You don't have to be left using this system in front of anyone either. Pair the portable system with a privacy tent, and you can have a private shower wherever you go!

4. Portable Heater

If you camp a lot, you are aware temperatures can quickly drop at night no matter what time of year it is. A portable tent heater is essential to stay warm on cold camping nights — or even days. A portable heater may be battery run, but if not, that generator we mentioned will be useful now. Search for a heater with multiple settings, so you can always adjust to the right temperature.

5. Movie Screen

Is there really a reason you need a huge movie screen at a campsite? Probably not — but glampers do not need a reason!

An outdoor portable movie screen is awesome for taking your camping trip to the next level. Pair it with a video projector for a movie night under the stars. Enjoying your favorite movies while camping is a fun treat and the large screen is great for a family movie night that will not be soon forgotten.

The Bottom Line

Camping does not have to be a rough and wild endeavor. It can be just as fun with a few creature comforts courtesy of modern amenities. Searching for these amenities will reveal many items adapted to be portable and versatile for a camping environment. With these five items you'll have a great starter pack to glamping!
