Modern Entrepreneur Profile: Martha Adams
/In conversation with Martha Adams, Certified Financial Planner, speaker, author and financial educator:
1. What made you want to write Cleopatra's Riches?
I’ve always believed that a personalized experience around finances is essential because money is a human experience formed over time and through many layers of influences. That’s why I was passionate about humanizing the financial conversation in my practice. This is exactly what I did in my boardroom for 15 years, and I saw first-hand the positive change that was happening in the lives of my clients.
It’s because of these positive results that I wrote Cleopatra’s Riches, to help more people by equipping them with the tools for a meaningful financial conversation. What I want to see is that the financial conversation becomes the most accessible, approachable and applicable dialogue there is. That is exactly what Cleopatra’s Riches works to create.
2. What do you want people to understand about your messaging?
This messaging is internally focused rather than externally driven. It’s common for the financial conversation to start with the “to-do lists,” the terms, or the jargon.
I believe the starting place is internally – meaning it starts with you as an individual. Understanding who you are and what your influences are allows you to make more meaningful decisions about your financial path.
3.What effect is your messaging having on people?
One of the most humbling comments I get from readers is that they now see themselves in the conversation and that they have found their voice. Ultimately, they’ve developed an awareness of just how integral their relationship with money is in every area of their lives including their work, relationships and lifestyle.
4.What’s next in your journey as an author?
I wrote Cleopatra’s Riches to provide the tools for a renewed financial conversation. My path forward is to continue working to create awareness amongst individuals and within the financial industry. Through this, I’m working to normalize the conversation around finances, which leads to financial empowerment being redefined and personalized financial experiences that are meaningful.
