Modern Mississauga presents Ask The City - Are there any sports programs that I can try this summer?

Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.” We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.

Today’s question is about sports programming.

Are there any sports programs that I can try this summer?

If you’re looking at getting in some exercise or maybe just trying something new this summer, look no further. The City of Mississauga offers a variety of sport programs, such as table tennis, badminton and basketball. If you’re interested in a sport program for the summer remember that you should reserve your spot in advance.

If residents are looking to get active through City of Mississauga sport programs, in addition to fitness and aquatics, there are some drop in options at community centres/arenas which include: badminton, pickle ball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, skating, shinny and hockey stick and puck. There are also tennis courts available at parks throughout the City for drop in use or registered programs.

If you’re interested in golfing, go the City’s Golf website to book a tee time and learn more about the City’s golf courses; Braeben Academy 9 hole course, and driving range, in addition to our two championship courses (Lakeview and Braeben).

For location and hours, have a look at the 2021 Drop-In Recreation Program Schedule. These are subject to change, so make sure you’re keeping up to date with program and service statuses. For more information, check out mississauga.ca.
