Modern Mississauga presents Ask The City - Are there any drop-in programs for my children this summer?

Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.” We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.

Today’s question is about outdoor drop-in programs.

Are there any drop-in programs for my children this summer?

The City of Mississauga is happy to offer a way for parents and children to engage in physical activity this summer, with our newest outdoor children’s program, Outdoor Fun. This is a drop in, outdoor education program that is offered at select parks across the City. The program aims to help teach children new ways to play outside, while giving parents a chance to relax.

This summer drop-in program accepts participants on a first come, first served basis and is weather dependant. Our enthusiastic leaders will facilitate active play, nature activities and games. This new drop-in program, Outdoor Fun, requires parents to remain in the park program area and respect public health recommendations such as masking, physical distancing, sanitization and contact tracking.

Outdoor Fun runs from July 5th to September 3rd and operates a morning and afternoon session for children ages 6-12. Locations and times are subject to change.
