Learn about The Open Gallery's new program "The Waiting List"

The Waiting List Modern Mississauga Media.jpeg

The Open Gallery has curated an interactive, multimedia program that invites creatives to a visual survey, reflecting on reliability within the arts. Featuring work by Amrita Chopra, the program captures a sensory experience that is taken beyond the settings of 4 white walls to assess equity and rebuild the ways we assign and define value to ourselves.

The Waiting List digs deeper into our minds as we reconnect with a world post-pandemic lockdown. Each box is part of an entire installation that is divided into sections and is handed out to registered individuals. Everyone who has received a box will be able to answer the survey questions on their survey card or with their specific installation piece. You will then snap a photo to send back to us where we can formulate "The Waiting List".

With this, we are able to visualize the answers to your questions on the installation as a whole and generate a better understanding of what the art world needs, what it wants and what artists feel, to make a change with the future of sustainable and inclusive arts programming.
