110 km/h speed limits to be permanent on 6 parts of Ontario highways

As of April 22nd, 2022, the speed limits of 110 km/h, currently part of a pilot project launched in 2019, will be made permanent, as per the Ontario government.

Part of the decision making process was that the province says the increased speed limits have not seen an increase of collisions.

Here are the highway sections in Ontario where 110 km/h speed limits will be permanent:

Queen Elizabeth Way – from Hamilton to St. Catharines
Highway 401 – from Windsor to Tilbury
Highway 402 – from London to Sarnia
Highway 404 – Newmarket to Woodbine
Highway 417 – from Ottawa to the Quebec border
Highway 417 – Kanata to Arnpior

Additionally, two sections of provincial highways in cottage country will see increased speed limits to 110 km/h for a trial basis.:

Highway 400 from Mactier to Nobel
Highway 11 from Emsdale to South River.

Are there any other Ontario highways that you feel would benefit from an increased speed limit?
