Learn About the 2023 Winter Wonders at the Royal Botanical Gardens

If you’re a fan of the Holiday season, Christmas, lights, doing outdoor activities with friends/family/loved ones/liked ones, then Burlington’s Royal Botanical Gardens has the perfect experience for you!
From hanging illuminated lanterns and Christmas trees, a gumdrop trail, a singing tree (well, you’ve got to sing to it for the lights to activate) to tens of thousands of lights spread across this Ontario attraction, and much more, the 2023 Winter Wonders experience is where it’s at.

Enter Winter Wonders, back for 2023, via a self-guided, unique outdoor experience guides visitors along Hendrie Park’s picturesque pathways adorned with charming festive lights, new interactive light to sound installations, and enchanting displays that celebrate the magic of the winter season. Stroll through their breathtaking garden to the rhythm of festive music while indulging in the warm tastes and fragrances of the holiday season.

After your walk, head indoors and enjoy the beautiful Botanical Train installation, featuring landmarks across Canada and some familiar characters from the famed TV series Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends.
From there, continue to the enchanging and the warmly lit Mediterranean Garden, Timed tickets are required and space is limited.

There’s a juggler on stilts roaming the grounds, plenty of fire pits to keep warm, live music, films playing in a tent, food/drink stops, thankfully, a bathroom stop, although it’s near the end of the trail, and overall, it’s a splendid way to enjoy the outdoors.

The wonderful winter-themed walk is 1.5 km, and takes approximately 1 hour.
Please leave your pets at home for this experience, pets are not permitted (service dogs excluded.)
Outside food and beverage will not be permitted.
Please be aware that some areas of the garden contain fast moving, bright lights.

The event runs from November 23rd until January 7th.

Adults - $20 (+HST & $1 Service Fee)
Children aged 3-12 - $16 (+HST & $1 Service Fee)
Children aged 0-2 - Free
RBG Members - $10 (+HST & $1 Service Fee)
