Why are you running for Councillor of Ward 5?
1. There are many reasons that prompted me to run for ward 5 City Council:
1. Property tax.
2. Diversity, inclusion, unemployment and underemployment.
3. Cost of living.
4. Crimes and thefts.
What are your top 3 campaign priorities and why?
The top 3 campaign priorities are:
a. Property tax
b. Crimes and thefts
c. Diversity and inclusion
Property tax: Currently our property taxes are calculated on the basis of market value. Property taxes should be calculated on the cost or book value not on market value. The short fall can be recuperate at time of sales of property.
Crimes and theft are on the rise especially auto thefts. I will work with federal and provincial governments to put more scanners at ports so that each container can be scanned.
Diversity and inclusion: Mississauga is a very diverse city. Approximately 40% of the population are visible minority. Our Council does not represent the population, so it's concerned and issues are either ignored or put it on the back burner.
How do you plan to actively involve and include residents in community decisions?
I intend to actively involve and include residents by having monthly meetings and discuss on going issues or any new ones.
How will you actively support our local businesses if elected?
I will be supporting local businesses by giving them tax break and put forward Affirmative Action.
What does Ward 5 currently excel at?
Ward 5 excel at its demographic and various multicultural.
