Cow Over Moon Children’s Theatre presents Here We Are
/Cow Over Moon Children’s Theatre is pleased to announce that they will be contributing to the celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday with our 2017 production called Here We Are, which is based on the Ojibway creation story of Turtle Island. We are proud to be able to offer this story to our young audiences in Mississauga.
This story will follow the journey of a family trying their best to carve out a place to “be” along with giving up pre-conceived notions of who they are as well as those around them. It is an examination of the extraordinary power of our dreams and the resilience and strength of children. It is also a reminder of the importance of perseverance, teamwork and not judging a book by its cover (or a person by their size), and that sometimes we need to break out of the perceived limits of our story as it is now and grow into a more capable person.
Founded and based in Mississauga almost twenty years ago, Cow Over Moon Children’s Theatre is dedicated to creating and producing quality, accessible theatre productions for children and families. By creating original scripts with a contemporary message, incorporating classic themes and teachable moments, the artists at Cow Over Moon engage their audience through the transformative power of theatre.
In true Cow Over Moon style this play will involve song, dance and of course the invitation for the audience to play! We truly believe this show will be one of a kind and something that both children and adults will come out of inspired, educated and of course entertained! Here We Are is most appropriate for ages 7 to 12 but has tons of action that will entertain the entire family.
Here We Are is written by the company and directed by Eli Ham. The company includes recent graduates from the Centre of Indigenous Theatre Blaine McLoed, Brendan Loonskin and second year student Pesch Nepoose. The cast also includes Aqua Nibii Waawaaskone who is also the Musical Director and Composer. Costume Design is by Isidra Cruz. The Stage Manager is Heather Bellingham.
