Modern Transportation - 6 new vehicles for less than $25,000

The constant evolution of the auto industry has positioned consumers with a myriad of choices for all types of vehicles. Vehicles are being equipped with more standard safety features, better fuel economy, more technology and there’s a mountain of incentives and deals to be had. It really is a buyers world in today’s ultra-competitive marketplace.
Here are my top six choices that pack the most value on four wheels for under $25,000 MSRP.

Mini Cooper 5-Door

The iconic Mini Cooper has evolved from its origins and is now available in several versions.
My favourite is the Five-Door as it balances functionality, form and fun.
There’s 941 L of cargo space with the seats down, a peppy turbo engine, remarkably sturdy handling, it’s oh-so easy to park and drive, and fuel efficiency registers below 8L /100 km. The practicality of five doors means easier access for your passengers and additional space for all of your stuff and things.

Mazda 3

All-new for 2019, the fourth generation Mazda 3 will offer available all-wheel drive and come wrapped in gorgeous styling. Based on images and early impressions, it’ll give the Honda Civic some serious competition.
Fuel efficiency is maximized via cylinder deactivation,  Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alerts, heated front seats, and exterior LED lights are all standard fare.

Kia Forte

Having just won “Best Small Car in Canada for 2019 “via the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada, the all-new Kia Forte is a strong, smart and sensible value-packed option.
Four out of six trims less than $25,000 and the fifth one is only $65 over that price point.
Apple Carplay and Android Auto, keyless entry, heated seats and steering wheel are equipped on all trims.  Fuel efficiency chimes in at less than 7L/100 km, so book those summer road trips now.

Nissan Kicks

Every Kicks model rings in below $25,000 so you can enjoy the top-trim SR, complete with speakers in the driver’s seat headrest, numerous active safety features in a compact yet comfortable package.
Best in class fuel economy and its stylish stance add to the allure of Nissan’s cute-ute.
Whether you’re a city slicker or a road tripper, the Kicks is jammed full of value.

Honda Civic

Honda’s wildly popular palindrome comes in four or five doors to suit your lifestyle.  Standard features on the five-door include Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, heated front seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s a well-built car, it’s stood the test of time and really, it’s one of my favourite cars to drive.
With a spacious interior and an attractive exterior, there’s a good reason there’s so many of these on the road.

Hyundai Kona

With more than half the trim levels at less than $25,000, the Kona certainly has price appeal. Plus, you can get all-wheel drive to boot! With its quirky exterior (I kinda like it) it’s easy to park, easy to maneuver on the road and has a comfortable ride quality. There are plenty of cool colours to pick from, 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft. of torque beneath the hood and volumes of value to be had here.
