Modern Mississauga presents Ask The City - What mental health and wellness support is available to residents during COVID-19?
/Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.” We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.
Today’s question is about mental health and wellness support.
What mental health and wellness support is available to residents during COVID-19?
Mental health is an essential part of our overall health and it is important for residents to take care of their mental well-being during these unprecedented times.
Our community has been deeply affected by COVID-19. During this pandemic, you may experience numerous challenges due to isolation, financial and employment uncertainty as well as disruptions to your daily life.
There are a number of resources available to Mississauga residents to support with mental health and wellness. Some of these resources include virtual counselling, coaching, advice, peer support, and access to social workers, psychologists and other professionals for confidential chat sessions and phone calls.
Additional supports can be found at peelregion.ca/coronavirus/social-support/#well.
Now more than ever, self care is critical, and we all need to take care of our mental well-being!
