Christine Montague Modern Mississauga Media.jpeg

Christine Montague is a renowned Canadian polar bear artist and portrait painter. The beautiful, highly intelligent polar bear and its vulnerability from climate change is the inspiration behind all her paintings. Escape into the arctic world of the polar bear, northern lights & sea ice. Montague hopes her art will capture your heart with its message of beauty, wonder, light & hope.

Montague has travelled to the far north, to Churchill and is very knowledgeable about the polar bear and its challenges to survive. The sea ice is melting sooner and freezing up later. So that starving mother bear, who is using up all her fat reserves to produce fat rich milk and feed herself, is at greater risk and so are her cubs. She needs to get to the seals who provide her food.

“The warming of the north and the entire planet, actually, should be of grave concern to everyone” explains Montague. “The interconnectedness of the whole earth is very complex”.

Coming soon to our website will be a guided tour of the exhibit with Christine Montague as your guide. Montague is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the polar bear and its challenges in today’s world.
