Mississauga's Styleworthy Studio opens in Streetsville
/While we navigate life in these unprecedented times, Styleworthy has had to pivot to remain safe and relevant to the lives of our community from in- person events to online and now, opening a studio at 8 Maiden Lane in Streetsville.
A Canadian-owned business based in Mississauga founder, Jennifer Rabanillo, first-generation Filipina-Canadian, noticed a lack of representation of Asians at events she was producing for clients and attending at a paid guest.
She noticed that they were filled with influencers who lack diversity through their brand image and storytelling.
With the lack of authenticity and ‘realness’ within these events and throughout social media, individuals' mental states are put at risk with self-doubt, body image, and confidence issues; Jennifer wanted to address the lack of diversity represented in the female empowerment and small business community by starting a platform where these issues are humanized.
"I want to open a safe space for individuals to seek encouragement and direction by creating a well-being and workshop studio, I will be able to reach individuals and youth in Mississauga through curated programming, customized small business support, and well-being services where I encourage the community to be the unedited version of themselves."
Jennifer has asked Angela Chao, a first-generation Taiwanese-Canadian and visual artist to be her Program Manager who focuses on mental health and the arts. They strongly believe that the true measure of well-being is through engaging experiences and collaborations that ultimately inspire others and provide guidance on how they can use art as an outlet for authentic expression.
Their well-being services led by professionals will be an extension of the mind, body, and soul experience with the addition of products that individuals can purchase in the studio shop that help encourage one's self-love and care journey.
