The Coldest Night Of The Year fundraiser happens on February 26th, 2022

Mississauga residents are encouraged to once again team up, fundraise, and walk in The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY). This family-friendly, winterrific fundraising walk takes place on February 26, 2022 and supports people experiencing hunger, hurt, and homelessness in our community.
Tens of thousands of Canadians will take to the streets for CNOY with events taking place in 150 cities, towns, and communities across the country. There are 3 locations right here in Mississauga! By walking together in the chill of the season, participants will better understand the experience of being on the streets during a cold Canadian winter, while raising funds to aid the work of our charities providing much-needed support.
As the original Mississauga location, this is The Dam’s 10th year taking part in the Coldest Night of the Year, and they’re aiming to raise $100,000 for their two youth drop in spaces serving the Meadowvale and Cooksville communities. Event director, Katie Cleland says, “This is a wonderful opportunity for you to participate in supporting the youth of our city. Will you join us by walking with The Dam?”
In the words of one of The Dam’s youth alumni: “The Dam has really helped develop me into the happy, striving young man I am today. The Dam offered me a home away from home, hot meals and snacks when I didn’t have anything waiting for me at home. The Dam gave me a safe place in the community to come feel free to express myself, to make not just friends, but family. The Dam’s not just there for you in the drop-in space, they’re there for you when it matters the most. For that, I am forever grateful.”
