Mississauga's Ward 6 Councillor Ron Starr still working despite a request to take leave of absence

If you’re not yet up to speed on what’s been happening with Mississauga’s leadership team, take a minute to read this.

During a council session on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2022, a unanimous motion was passed requesting Starr take a leave of absence until a thorough, fair and unbiased investigation is completed.

The same day, he was present at a planning and growth management committee meeting.

As chair of the region’s Waste Management Strategic Advisory Committee, he attended a meeting on Thursday, February 4th, 2020.

Keep in mind that requesting him to step aside temporarily is just that; a request.
If it was mandated and he attended the two aforementioned meetings, this would be a differently voiced article.

With the next  Mississauga General Committee planned for Wednesday, February 9th, there’ll be several sets of eyes tuning into to the live stream to see if his seat is occupied or empty.
