Is my Mississauga temporary parking permit still valid during a snow storm?
Here’s what the City of Mississauga says:

Temporary parking permits can be suspended at any time during winter to allow staff and equipment to safely clear our roads after a snowfall. The City doesn’t issue new temporary parking permits and suspends current ones for the duration of snow clearing operations.

A temporary or short term parking permit (a parking consideration) allows you to park on a residential street longer than the standard five hours for up to five days. It is important to remember that no on-street parking is permitted between 2 and 6 a.m.

The City follows a priority route system for salting and plowing roads. Major roads, arterial roads, and local collector roads are cleared first followed by residential roads, priority sidewalks, bus stops and pedestrian crossings.

The City's winter maintenance crews clear City roads, priority sidewalks, bus stops and pedestrian crossings within 12-36 hours after the end of a snowstorm. Back to back storms will extend this timing.

During snow events, parked or stopped vehicles in contravention of the City’s Traffic By-law or on-street parking restriction may be issued a penalty notice and may be subject to towing and storage fees at the expense of the owner.

The City encourages residents to remove parked cars from the street prior to and during snow clearing operations so that the equipment can safely clear the road.
