Both Celebration Square and Streetsville Village Square are buzzing with exciting and unique events this summer that people of all ages can take part in and enjoy.

July 7, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, the European 2016 Soccer Championship will be playing on the big screens. This is the perfect opportunity to watch the match in a fun community environment and support your favourite team.

July 9 is the TD Irie Mississauga Festival. From 1:00pm to 11:00pm, enjoy an evening filled with groups of culturally diverse artists with various musical, dance, and spoken word performances from the Region of Peel and Mississauga.

July 10, the Japan Festival will be taking place from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This is an opportunity to experience Japanese food and culture and celebrate the 35th anniversary of Mississauga’s sister city partnership with Kariya, Japan.

July 11, 25, and August 29 - each falling on a Monday - will be the Art on the Screens event. This free experience will showcase various art pieces by Canadian artists chosen from nearly 100 submissions. All three dates are free admission and run from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Thursday July 14 to Sunday July 17 is the Amacon Mississauga Rotary Ribfest. Bring your stretchy pants and indulge in a medley of vendors selling BBQ chicken, ribs, and more. You'll also get to enjoy live entertainment from a wide range of musical acts. Paid admission will be in effect on July 15 and 16 at $2.00 per person or $5.00 per family.

July 22-23 sees the sixth annual Bollywood Monster Mashup take place. This free cultural experience will include singers, dancers, musicians, and Bollywood dance lessons, as well as various food and shopping options at the Bollywood Monster Marketplace, all leading up to a free Bollywood show.

July 30-31 is the Fiesta Ng Kalayaan at Celebration Square. This free, family friendly festival is a celebration to honour the Philippines through food, dance, music, and fashion.

August 6-7 is when the Mississauga Latin Festival takes place. This colourful and compelling festival will provide a cultural Latin American experience, from salsa and tango dancing to traditional shows and appetizing dishes.

August 12-13 is the TD Mosaic Festival presented by Turkish Airlines. This free, cultural festival provides a look into South Asian classical and contemporary art, appetizing dishes, and Bollywood.

August 27-28 sees MuslimFest taking place at Celebration Square. This festival is aimed at celebrating the best in Muslim entertainment, cuisines and arts. MuslimFest is also a good way to help broaden our horizons as a community and learn about Muslim youth and entertainment.

Lions Farmers Market - Wednesdays, June 1 - October 26

This market contains a wide variety of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, as well as baked goods, homemade preserves, locally produced wine, honey, and much more.
*Please note that the Lion’s Farmers market will not take place on Wednesday July 13

Movie Nights - Thursdays, May 26 - September 1

Thursdays through to September 1st, Celebration Square has various movie nights, free of charge, starting at 8:00 pm. Enjoy a night under the stars watching a variety of different flicks throughout the summer.
*Please note that movie nights will not occur on July 7 and 14

STREETSVILLE VILLAGE SQUARE

July 28 at 7:00 pm, the Driftwood Theatre Group presents their production of The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare.

ONGOING THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER

Free Latin Dancing Lessons - Saturdays, June 11 - August 27

Spice up your life with some Latin dancing! Weather permitting, free dance lessons and demonstrations will occur every Saturday from 6:30 pm-9:30 pm.

BUSKERS: Entertainment on the Square - Sundays, August 7 - 28

Sundays in August will be an exciting and entertaining time in the Streetsville as there will be various buskers in and around the village square.

Free Morning Yoga - Sundays, July 10 - 24 & August 7 - 28

All levels of experience are welcome at Sunday morning yoga in the square, 8:30 am to 9:30 am. All you need to get started is a yoga mat and a water bottle!
