6 Fun Festivals to experience in 2018
/2018 is a new year, which can be used a a year of discovery, of trying new things, of becoming a better version of yourself. What better way to do that than to try out some new, exciting, festivals 2018 has to offer?! I’ve put together a list of the top 6 festivals 2018 has to offer.
Warped Tour
Number six is Warped tour. This year is the last year this tour is coming to Toronto. There’s talks of bringing back some of the originals, like The Cure, and as they’ve expanded to include a hip hop stage, you can be sure to find something you’ll enjoy. Plus, with so many tragic rock and roll deaths in 2017, you can definitely expect some amazing tributes dedicated to the legends.
One of a kind show
Not a music festival, but a fantastic festival in itself if you’re looking for those unique, custom, one of a kind pieces. It’s guaranteed you won’t leave empty handed, as there are a ton of clothing vendors, art vendors, and specialty treat vendors.
Ontario's Best Butter Tart Festival
Fourth on my list is the Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival. Obviously this is the festival for you if you love sweet treats, and want to taste some of the best pastries Ontario has to offer. Located in Midland, you can find all types of sweet treats here. Butter tarts, lemon tarts, a tart for pretty much anyone, this festival is on June 9th, and you definitely don’t want to miss out.
Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival
This festival runs June first to seventh, and is held downtown Orangeville, on Broadway. Filled with live music, vendors, and delicious food, this is a small town event you don’t want to miss. Most of the restaurants lining Broadway have their patios open so that you can enjoy the music played both outside and inside. But you better get there early, this festival is always full of people of all ages, especially on the weekend.
Sound of Music Festival
Every year this event is a huge success, bringing in huge groups of people for their week long festival. This one is from June 10th to 18th, and although headliners have yet to be announced, you can bet it’ll be just as big a hit as previous years.
The Canadian National Exhibition
And number one on my list of 2018 Festivals to look out for is, with good reason, The Canadian National Exhibition. An end of summer tradition for many families across not just Ontario, but Canada too, the CNE hosts great entertainment for people of all ages. From live music (free with entry), to petting zoos, to the amazing shopping and arts and crafts building, to the incredibly mind blowing food, you cannot miss this Canadian tradition. The Ex runs from August 18th to September 4th, so you have plenty of time to check it out. Keep checking the schedule of events – all summer they have huge Canadian Talent playing at the Bandshell. Keep an eye out for your favorites!
There it is folks! The top six festivals to look out for in 2018. Guaranteed to hit the taste of everybody, these are the events you can’t miss across Ontario!
