Modern Mississauga presents Ask The City - What’s the best way to dispose of real Christmas trees and wreaths in Mississauga?

Modern Mississauga and the City of Mississauga have come together to present an ongoing series called “Ask the City.”
We’ll share relevant information here and answer your questions about our city.

Today’s question is about disposing of real Christmas trees and wreaths.

What’s the best way to dispose of real Christmas trees and wreaths in Mississauga?

If you’re looking to dispose a real Christmas tree or wreath after the holidays, the Region of Peel will collect them from the curb during the weeks of January 7 to January 14, 2019. Trees taller than 3 m. (10 ft.) must be cut in half to be collected at the curb or dropped at any Peel Community Recycling Centre. Visit Where Does It Go for more information on proper Christmas tree set-out. For residents in condominiums/apartment buildings, please contact your property manager for correct disposal options.

Trees will not be collected if they are placed in bags, in or on snowbanks or still decorated with tinsel or ornaments.

For more information on proper disposal, visit peelregion.ca/waste.
